Traffic Kills is an eco community that "takes care of all the factors that are degrading our environment. It aims to improve the habits of the people through sustainable changes, creating a critical mass able to guide human progress towards sustainable development. " Using the on-line platform Meetup , the community is organized into local networks allowing members to share ideas and turn them into concrete initiatives. A Torino Traffic Kills identified the pedestrian crossing Piazza Statuto as one of the most dangerous places in the city and 1 March 2008, about 100 people for 10 minutes have just crossed the dangerous crosswalk blocking and congested traffic. Intelligent action, totally ignored by Turin, but not from London who, inspired by Turin, repeated the action on December 6.
But it is with the design of the bus Free Traffic Kills that managed to be heard and to obtain a great victory. In spring 2008, Traffick Kills organized a series of bus service connecting the main points of Turin nightclubbing on Saturday night, compensating in part to the lack of public urban night. The project was funded by the same nightspots served by shuttle bus, providing a secure mobility of young people who have benefited from the mass bus. The great success of the initiative has prompted public agencies to quickly activate the GTT Buster Night, a night public transport service with 10 lines, active weekends of the summer months of July and August.
